Meet Our Team
Susan Hubbard, DVM
Dr. Susan Hubbard has an extensive history of caring for pets in the Greece area and has been the director of Greece Animal Hospital since 2012. A native of Rochester, New York, Dr. Hubbard began her career caring for animals at Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital as a kennel attendant and animal care assistant in 1986. She returned to work for Monroe Veterinary Associates as an associate veterinarian at Pittsford Animal Hospital from 2000 to 2002, and at Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital from 2002 to 2012.
Dr. Hubbard attended the University of Rochester and received her bachelor's degree in biology in 1994. She continued her education at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she was awarded her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 1998. Dr. Hubbard also practiced medicine at Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital from 1998 to 2000. Her professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and dentistry. Dr. Hubbard is also active in the care and treatment of puppies and guide dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
At home, Dr. Hubbard enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family, which includes her husband Todd and their four children. She also shares her home with Finn, a yellow lab, Jack, a terrier mix, Oreo a guinea pig, two leopard geckos named Geronimo and Annabelle, and a turtle named Squirt.
Elizabeth Ferderbar, DVM
Dr. Elizabeth Ferderbar is an associate Veterinarian and has been working with animals for almost ten years. She is originally from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
Dr. Ferderbar was part of the Dean’s Scholar Program at University of Minnesota: Twin Cities and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. She attended veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences, graduating in 2014. She received a Service Award and a National VBMA Business Certificate while attending veterinary school.
Her favorite part of being a vet is being able to build relationships with clients as they watch their puppies and kittens grow into happy adults!
Some of her professional interests include exotic, avian, and alpaca medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Ferderbar can be found giving lectures at university organizations about veterinary medicine and pet care. She also enjoys musical theater, aerial silks, and krav maga in her free time.
Christina Harmon, DVM
Dr. Christina Harmon is an associate veterinarian at Greece Animal Hospital. She graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 with her doctorate of veterinary medicine and earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Rochester in 2013.
She grew up on a small farm in Leroy, New York and believes that growing up on a farm gave her the skills necessary to pursue veterinary medicine. She has been working at Greece Animal Hospital for almost 2 years and enjoys the camaraderie amongst the entire team. Her professional interests include dermatology, ophthalmology, and animal behavior.
At home she has a wonderful Golden Retriever named Sydney whom she loves spending time along with the rest of her family. In her free time she enjoys reading, lifting, basketball, softball, and a variety of winter sports.
Katie Stayton, BVSc
Dr. Katie Stayton is an associate veterinarian at Greece Animal Hospital. While living in New Zealand, she attended Massey University where she earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree (the equivalent to a doctorate of veterinary medicine).
Dr. Stayton began working in the animal care field while she was working towards her bachelor's degree in life sciences from Cornell University. She loves that at Greece Animal Hospital, everyone is committed to their job and works together in a supportive and caring way to keep things running smoothly.
Dr. Stayton shares her home with her fiancé Bryan, a collie/lab mix named Ella and cats named Femalee (pronounced like tamale), and Paco. She enjoys all outdoor activities, as well as cooking and baking when she is not working.
The Veterinary Technicians
Jill L., LVT Supervisor
Jill is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Greece Animal Hospital. She has over 20 years of experience in the animal-care industry. Jill has a bachelor’s degree in equine science with a minor of facility management. She is also licensed in rehabilitation.
What she likes best about working at Greece Animal Hospital is the supportive, family-like atmosphere.
Jill has a small menagerie at home, including three dogs: Ferdinand, Hemi, and Cooper, one cat, and several horses. In her free time, she takes care of her five-year-old daughter named Jemma, rides horses and enjoys outdoor activities.
Vicki H., LVT
Vicki grew up in Avon, NY. She graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Alfred State College in 2005. Shortly after, she began work at Greece Animal Hospital as a licensed veterinary technician. She likes helping the animals at Greece, and loves meeting new clients and working with her coworkers.
When she’s not at work, Vicki enjoys spending time with her family including her husband, Matt, and daughters, Faith and Olivia. She also enjoys reading, taking walks, and watching movies. She shares her home cats, Jazmine and Jamaica.
Sara T., LVT
Sara is originally from Spencerport, NY. With a bachelor’s degree in animal science and an associate degree in veterinary technology, she started at Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital in 2001, and is currently a part-time licensed veterinary technician at Greece Animal Hospital. She also occasionally works at Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services. Sara enjoys working at Greece Animal Hospital because the staff is “a merry bunch of compassionate and hard-working people.”
Outside of work, Sara and her husband Bill like to ride and race their bikes. She also trains her dogs: Stella, Logan, Tootsie, and Rudy in obedience, rally, confirmation, and agility.
Lauren S., LVT
Lauren is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Greece Animal Hospital. She just began her career at Greece, but has been working in the animal-care industry for seven years.
Lauren says that everyone at the hospital is so helpful and welcoming that it makes it easy to feel like a part of the team. She loves spending time building relationships with the team and with their clients and patients.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside and cuddling her dogs. Lauren’s dogs include a Lhasa apso mix named Zoey.
Alexa D., LVT
Alexa is a full time veterinary technician at Greece Animal Hospital. After eight years working with animals, her favorite part is getting to know the patients and clients.
In her free time she volunteers with Pitty Love Rescue, reads, watches Friends, and spends time with her dogs: Sammy a mini poodle/dachshund mix and Patricia the pug.
Kelly S., LVT
Kelly grew up in Rush, NY. She has been working with animals since 2015 and she has been a part of the Greece Animal Hospital team since 2018.
Kelly loves working with her team to provide the best care possible to their clients’ pets. At home she has Aleu a husky, Australian shepard, Australian cattle dog mix and her rat Chusi. She hopes there will be many more dogs joining her family in the future. In her free time Kelly does yoga, reads, paints, and spends time outdoors camping and hiking.
The Animal Care Staff
Heather was born and raised right here in Rochester, NY. She is a full-time ACA here at Greece Animal Hospital and has been with us for two years. She is currently attending Medaille College to become a certified vet tech and is expecting to graduate in December of 2019. Heather recently achieved her Fear Free certification.
Always an animal lover, Heather grew up with a wide range of pets, from dogs and cats to hedgehogs and snakes. You could say this is what inspired her to want to work in the animal-related field. Heather is mom to a Pitbull mix named Bowser and Russian Blue Feline simply named, Kitty. In her free time Heather loves to hike with Bowser. She also enjoys drawing paining and creating new foods. Her biggest supporters are her boyfriend Mike, her mother Hope and her brother Vincent.
Dina is a Greece, NY native and a part-time Animal Care Assistant here at Greece Animal Hospital. She started her career in the animal-related field in 2002 as a Kennel Attendant. Dina has her bachelor’s in psychology from Wells College and her masters in mental health counseling from St. John Fisher.
Dina is mom to a Tabby named Lola May. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her wife Brittany and their new baby boy, Lennon!
Kim grew up in the Rochester area and has been working with animals for almost 25 years! She loves the environment of Greece Animal Hospital which allows her to build stronger relationships with the clients and animals. As an animal care assistant she enjoys having the opportunity to help educate clients.
In her free time, Kim is still working with animals. Kim and her daughter Molly do dog obedience, agility, and rally with their labs Lexi and Leo. They are also involved in 4H K-9 kids.
Claire is from Spencerport. She started working with animals in 2013 when she became a member of NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pets Sitters) and has been with Greece Animal Hospital as an animal care assistant since 2015. She loves that her coworkers feel more like family and everyone works so hard towards their common goal of providing the highest quality of pet care.
Claire recently has gone back to school to pursue a career in social work and hospice care where she is a member of the phi theta kappa honor society. When not at work or school, Claire can be found surrounded by her furry family including: three jack russel pugs, Ruby, Geno, and Jackson, her cat Peanut, and Sophie the three-legged chihuahua.
Dina is a part time animal care assistant. She began working with animals in 2002 as a kennel attendant. She loves that she gets to work in place that has such a supportive and upbeat atmosphere. Having been with the Greece Animal Team since she was 17, Dina feels like they are her second family.
In her free time she loves spending time with her first family including her one year old son Lennon, and cat Lola May.
Tamara is a Greece native and was recently rehired at Greece Animal Hospital after moving back from Florida. She firmly believes that you can only be as strong as the team supporting you and is proud to say she is part of a great team. They work together to give excellent patient care and ease their clients’ minds.
In her free time Tamara is taking care of her two dogs, Penny the welsh pembroke corgi and Molly the mini dachshund. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and photography.
Lisa has been working with animals in some capacity for over ten years and recently began as an animal care assistant at Greece Animal Hospital. She is thankful for the opportunity to gain experience in a field she that she enjoys so much. Lisa is certified in natural pet care and a certified vet assistant.
In her free time Lisa takes care of her own small menagerie of animals including: her dogs Cooper and Athena, her cats Katie and Rosie, Alex and Piggy-Smalls her guinea pigs, and Tank and Andrew her ball pythons. She also enjoys reading, painting, sewing, crafts, and hiking.
Molly is very excited to have her first job working with animals as an animal care assistant at Greece Animal Hospital. She loves that everyone cares for their patients as if they were their own beloved pets. Winston is Molly’s loving pitbull who she loves being able to spend time with. She also enjoys cooking.
The Reception Staff
Casey L., CSR Supervisor
Casey was born in Florida but moved to Greece, NY when she was a kid. She began as a kennel attendant in 2005 and is now the client service representative supervisor.
Casey loves being able to help educate clients about their pets and work with the amazing Greece Animal Hospital team. In her free time Casey enjoys stand up paddle boarding, walking her dogs Titan and Max, and camping with her four kids.
Shannon S., CSR Admin
Shannon grew up in the town of Greece, NY. She has been a full-time administration client service representative at Greece Animal Hospital since 2010. She enjoys working at Greece because the staff “has all become close friends. They make work a fun and caring environment.”
Shannon enjoys being a newlywed with her husband Eric. She also shares her home with her labs, Charlie and Gunner and her cat, Marley. In her free time she enjoys running with Charlie and Gunner.
Savannah has been working at Greece Animal Hospital as an animal care assistant for a little over a year while she is in school to become a veterinary technician. She loves having the opportunity to constantly experience new things. Savannah is proud that one of those learning experiences included her becoming Fear Free Certified.
In her free time, Savannah enjoys horseback riding, reading, and walking Ella her three-year-old terrior mix.
